6.0 life expectancy

Curious as to how many miles these 6.0 are running? no mods. possibly running 35" tires.normal use occasional camper towing. maintained.

I easily get 200,000+ miles on my gas motors. thinking about a diesel.

I never know what to believe online because one man's treasure is another mans junk.

So just looking for opinions. I rarely ever run over the speed limit and i never abuse my vehicles so i'm interested in opinions from those with similar driving habits. How many miles?

Depends on how you take care of it and maintain it. Anthony, a member on here has over 750k on his I believe. And getting over 300k is easily attainable by doing regular maintenance and treat it good. The tech folder has many tips and suggestions on this matter.

There's a guy on here who got 600k before he rebuilt his motor. He pulled every day as a transporter. My truck currently has 215k and purrs like a kitten. With proper maintaince and a few mods it should last 350k without question. Just like any other vehicle how it's cared for us the key to its success or demise.

And how much money you have to put towards it to maintain it "properly"....

The bottom end is pretty stout, with few failures unless something let loose in the valvetrain or injector.

My personnel truck is not high mileage but I know that with a few select mods and rigorous maintenance they are very capable of high mileage. While recently at an auction I seen two government owned 6.0 trucks in excess of 300,000. I have seen on here a guy who got over 500,000 on one. I believe the bottom end was still in good shape but a lifter let loose. I believe he rebuilt it and is now at over 700,000.

Mine has a touch over 300k now. Yes I have had some issues with it, I would consider them minor in nature. Working through one now, urgh... would I buy my truck again, Yes. In my opinon the 6.0 is as sound an engine as any other engine out there. I belive it is the electronics (that it takes to operate the engine) that are the culprits causing the issues with the 6.0. Yes there are lawsuits, yes there are disgruntled owners, but there are alot more owners, fleets (for example power companies), and govermental agency running Ford F-250 & F-350 diesels than any other brand truck, take a look around your area and see whats being used. The engines are built Ford tuff. The engine electronics not so much so.

240,000 miles on mine, original head gaskets, original turbo, and still has 2 original injectors. Yes I have a tuner with non puking heads. The 6.0 can be a great motor if you treat her good and are not a idiot.

Completely agree with you. Especially the part about people being idiots. I dont understand why people keep something around if they dont like it just to bi*** about it. Dont like it sell it and move on to the next forum.
