Figured I'd create this thread so that anyone who's interested could follow the progress of my excursion over the next few months. I purchased my beast over a year and a half ago and it's only seen 850 road miles since then lol. I am FINALLY getting this show on the road and starting to turn this beast into the show truck it's going to end up being.
For starters, I'll post a few pics of what it looks like as she sits now.
I found my tires on craigslist for a STEAL. They were 300$ and have about 60+% of tread life left. They are Interco TSL Super Swampers 42x15.50x20's with a pretty aggressive tread pattern (I'm sure it will be loud on the highway lol). I was waiting on my tax return to start this project so now that it will be here before the weekend, I can start getting things in order.
I am picking up these 20x14 XD Riots brand new on saturday and then plasti dipping them and getting them put on the excursion saturday night
I decided on these due to how fat the lip is and how wide the stance will be!
I also scooped up some UWS side rails that are powder coated black that I will be installing this weekend as well. Here is a shot of them...
I am also ordering the new plasti dip gun from dipyourcar.com in preparation of dipping the whole exterior of the excursion. I decided on what's called a Eletric Blurple pearl over a black basecoat. It will look something a long the lines of this mazda 6. Purple and blue depending on the light conditions...
I have a gallon of black chassis saver I'll be applying soon as well as 1 gallon of herculiner which will be replacing the carpets throughout the truck
Stay tuned and I will keep this thing as updated as possible with progress pics and vids!
This should be interesting. In for more. Have you ever thought off military take off tires that are 46" with a huge load rating?
Ya I will most likely be going military tires when my tread gives out on these. It might take a while though because I have a car and a streetbike that I daily. This won't be driven too too much so I doubt I go through the tread fast.
Hmmm a local buddies shop is willing to do 1250$ for a set of Fuel Hostage wheels 20x14 that they normally only sell for 1600+. Really thinking about forking up the extra 250 to go from XD to Fuel.
What do you guys think?
here are the Fuel's
Mine would be ALL black though, in the pic they are black/machined.
