I'm looking for some info on doing an EFI conversion on my truck. I'm sure there are some other threads about this, but I was unable to find much when I searched. My plan is to swap a 5.0 HO and AOD from a donor car. I already have the car, it's an unmolested Lincoln Mark VII with 90K actual miles. I have driven it about 5K of those just to check everything out as it has been driven very little over the last several years. I have read a lot about the wiring involved and think that I have most of that figured out. What I am needing to know now is has anyone done this in a dentside and what issues to watch out for. I know I will have to mod the trans cross-member and probably my drive shaft. I have a gas tank out of a later model truck with the internal pump. What else am I missing? Any info is appreciated and thanks in advance.
I believe some f100s had the 302 from the factory, so it shouldn't be too hard if you can find a donor truck in the junk yard to swipe motor mounts and stuff from.
I have a 351w in the truck now which uses the same mounts as the 302, so that is not an issue. I'm wondering if the double sump oil pan might clear the front cross-member and any experience with shift linkage on the AOD to the stock column shifter, good place to hide the ECM, etc. I want to make this look stock in the end, but for the first install I want to leave the motor as untouched as possible. It is in a running, driving car currently, so everything I need to make it work in my truck is there. After I have it in the truck and driving, I will tackle the wire routing, AC, factory oil pan and pickup, etc.
