I wanted to know if anyone has or had this issue. Just to let you know I had to change my battery today.
When I was driving the truck I notice that my heater now blows harder every time I rev up and when I let go then the heat blows less. Is this a vacuum leak? Where should I start looking?
Is the blower fan speeding up then slowing down? If so I would check your altenator voltage output.it should remain constant between approximately 13.5-14.7 thru different rpms
This all started when I changed my battery. Could there be something wrong with the battery? When I went to get my battery checked they said that the alternator was fine.
A small change in fan speed is normal if it is alot it is not.If your altenator is putting out too much voltage it will damage the battery.I doubt it is a battery problem, make sure your terminals are clean and tight.Check your ground to be sure you have a good ground.then check your voltage at the battery with the engine running at various rpm
Alright so this is what happen. Today driving my truck the check engine light came on and I got a code p0506.
So, I changed the battery (was old). Clean the throttle body (very dirty), clean Mass Air flow sensor (looked ok, but clean it anyway), and I change the air filter. Drove it for a while and the check engine light didn't turn on.
The heater still goes up and down when I rev. Any clue what make this happen.
Also did anyone get this code p5006 on their truck? What did you do to fix this issue and code.
Code p0506 is a idle speed too low, could be caused by a faulty throttle body, vacume leak, air restriction in the intake or exhaust. When you replaced your battery you need to preform a idle learn unless you used some type of memory saver.I am not sure how to do the idle learn on fords.
How did you clean the maf sensor, you have to be careful with the they are easily damaged.
Well I clean the MAF sensor with CRC Mass Air Flow Cleaner.
Today I drove around and everything is working normal again.
Again, I Clean the MAF, Throttle Body, Replace Air Filter.
Your right: Remember when you clean your MAF disconnect your battery. Which I didn't do the first time. Then I disconnect the battery and the MAF for about 30 minutes, then reconnect. Everything work fine an no more engine check with code p0506.
Thanks for all the info. I hope this will help anyone with the same problem.
