Bench seat upgrade.

Greetings group. I have a ’78 F150, standard cab. I don’t like the bench seat. Don’t have a problem fabricating brackets, however, I was wondering if anyone has had any direct modern-ish upgrade ideas? I’d really like bucket seats but I don’t think the Bronco buckets are really all that much of an upgrade. I don’t have a problem drilling holes for buckets. What bucket seats have you had good luck with? Not a ton of room in the cab and I’m 6’3”. I have a 79 crew cab that I installed 40/20/40 split seats, I ordered them from shop4seats.com, I had them customed colored and with 2 different syles of material, they have a bracket you can order that bolt right in to the old holes, didnt take me 30 min. to install. Iam very pleased with them, they took about 4 to 5 weeks to get.

Hit the local JY pick and pull up to a 96 bench will bolt right in on the 78 bottom frame and brackets. But by now most 96's are shot.

Or get some newer bench buckets with armrest for 100 or 500 depends how new a truck and condition.

You will have to definitively get the shop saw, drill and welder going and make a custom mount frame but it not impossible.

Use the Advanced Search blue bar drop down option way better search results.

Thanks for the info - I didn't realize the '96 was a fit. Nice truck BTW.

I wonder if it would be possible to fit the seats from an 09+ f150. Those Lariat and king Ranch seats are very nice on my butt!

Iam more then happy, there was no fab to the mounts, direct bolt in, they seem very well built, firm just like a 2013 ford seat, Iam sure they will break in with time.
I know they are alittle spendy but I think they are worth it

For sure. I found a great set of front leather King Ranch seats however they were $2K and still would have to fab brackets and wire them up. But, yea those newer leather Ford seats a soooo nice.
