Hey Folks, I am new to this site. I just recently purchased a 1968 F250 Camper Special that my Dad had bought brand new. I am looking to slowly fix up. I am wanting to run the factory wheels and was gave 6 extra wheel when I bought the truck. I was told 4 of them were the originals? from memory I thought they were 9.50 x 16.5 rims. two of the rims look to be the original as they are riveted together, but the other 4 are welded and they also are stamped 8.75 X 16.5? all six of the rims measure the same width, I am just trying to figure out if I have the correct rims for my truck.

You are talking tire sizes. I am assuming your smaller size was for standard F250's and the larger size was for Camper Specials. Jowilker would know better than I.

I remember the truck when I was a teenager having tires that were 9.50 X 16.5, (and my buddies always asking why we had those wide tires on a old farm truck) it just that what I saw stamped on the rim was '8.75 x 16.5' that has me wondering if I have the right rims, I would have thought they would have been stamped 9.50 X 16.6? the truck is a CAMPER SPECIAL, We lived in Anchorage, Alaska at the time and my dad ordered the truck from a dealer in Seattle Wa, it was ordered with a heaver rear end or springs, and a slide out Bumper. No it was not. It was meant for tubeless tires. Ford shows the split rim wheels being 16.5" x 6". As I mentioned above your two tire sizes are matched with 16.5" x 6.75" wheels in Ford's chart. Which were not split rim.

I'm not sure where JEFFFAFA is getting "my two Tire sizes" I just want to know if the rims should be 9.50 x 16.5? Was this one of the available rim sizes for a 1968 F250 Camper Special?

I don't understand your question, bobark. You say the wheels measure the same size but they say different things? What size are they??? You say they were on the truck when your dad bought it new? There's your answer! If they were on it when it came from ford the obviously they are the correct wheels no?

I haven't seen the truck in twenty years till about 6 months ago, it has some white spoke wheels on it now, but the guy that sold it to me gave me six extra wheels and said four of those six were the original wheels. But none of those six measure 9.50 x 16.5. I want to put the truck back to original as possible.
