Stock 6 Disc Changer Problems

I have a 2002 Ranger Edge. I am having problems with the stock 6 disc changer. I was ejecting the cd's using the auto eject feature, I was able to get the first cd out, but while it was moving to the next cd, all i got was a cd error and now I am not able to listen to or eject any cd's. Is this a common problem?

Is the CD a home made cd? I had that happen before. I think I kept ejecting the other cds and reloading them and finally the radio found the missing cd.

No the CD's were bought and paid for, but this morning the strangest thing happened, the cd player ejected the cd all by itself and started working again. I think that I have a gremlin living in my stereo.

Problem fixed

It turns out that there was a short in my stereo. I am glad that I have a warranty. The dealer replaced the stereo and I haven't had any problems since. Knock on wood
