Colored steering wheel?

Went JY hopping Saturday and saw a dentside with a green fsctory Ford steering wheel. I have never seen one in any truck I had previously seen. I spoke with the old man and he said he had sold several wheels out of these trucks that were red, green and brown. Is he full of crap or did some of these trucks have colored steering wheels?

Nope, they are probably rare as heck, but I have seen them myself. My first Dentside had a red steering wheel. It was a '73 Ranger F-100 I had in high school. I don't know if it was tied to interior trim packages or what the deal was.

Ford actually started using the steering wheel that we all know in the later bumpsides, I think '71 or '72 and they came in different colors. As I recall, they were available in red, blue, green and, of course, black.
When they switched to just black, it became the service replacement for the other colors.

I stand corrected. Interesting.

The hunt is ON!

My 77 f250 has a blue wheel. It's cracked as hell, but it's blue.

Here you all go. I see green ones all the time at my local yards. Always falling apart though. This isn't in a truck but that's what they look like

If I remember right this truck had a red wheel and column, I am looking for interior pics.....memory don't fail me now. And I know I have seen blue also.

The truck pic is a 78 XLT with the 3 chrome rectangle button headliner and seat.

Not to be confused or get all excited about this below. Unless this give you guys some more places to look? Ford Mustang/Maverick/Torino/Ranchero/LTD... steering shaft end size issue?? And just swap out the middle LTD emblem for a blue oval?
