transmission issues
97 explorer 4.0 control trac 200,000 miles. bought as basket case. trans pump was leaking. previous owner replaced seal, then got ill. we installed tranny and everything else. O/D is flashing, pulled code 1762. have to shift into 2nd to get a forward gear. once it catches you can shift into O/D position. does not shift into O/D at any time. have to release accelerator pedal to get upshift. Any thoughts band adjustment, solenoid, fuse, blinker fluid

ok did some more testing, drained excess ATF, about 0.7 quart. tranny now shifts into drive or reverse normally, shifts great going down the road, nice and smooth. however when i watch my torque app when it shifts into 5 slippage goes WAY up. after a minute or if you are going uphill, the O/D light starts flashing. The only other symptom is that it doesn't want to downshift at from overdrive unless you come to a complete stop. flooring it does not cause a downshift to show on the torque app screen
