I just wanted to see what some of yall might be running gear wise on your trucks. I have an '08 F250 4X4 with the 5.4 and Im getting ready to do an 8in lift on it. But I wanted to pick your brains on what might be the best gear ratio to go with on a set up like this. Just want something with a little more grunt but still streetable. Mostly city with a little light off roading on the weekends in the summer.
well it depends on application. if you want to use it for mudding and rock crawling then you will need full articulation of the suspension and will probably want the 6 inch lift with 35's. 8 with 37's. if its a pavement princess then just go with what looks best for you. in my opinion i wouldnt go more than 4 inches with 35's. and more than 6 with 37's. but it also depends on wheel size and offset. when i regear mine i will put 4.88's in mine that way it will put my 5.4 with 35's to apros 4.30 ratio. and leave me with a 4.10 ratio if i decide to go to 37's in the future.
