The 6.7 is better than the 6.4 or 6.0l in that regard (most major stuff doesn't require a cab lift), but the double radiators and all the coolers it has means there is always a pipe in the way of trying to get something off.

how much for the conversion in the States. Do they throw in a extra steering/dumby box or do a proper RHD. Like Brad mentioned they are talking about relaxing the import laws and something like this maybe a options in the years to come.

Its US$26,500 just for the conversion

They use a dummy box, which is good/bad, I don't like the idea, but it does mean that I can bolt on any front end part from a US truck.

I think the guy has a low volume import license, so could do imports for people not coming under the same scheme I am, but I know there is increased costs (and bs) involved.

Nope - it ain't, but it was the cheapest price I was able to find. Another mob in New Zealand were doing them for US$25k, but you had to ship to NZ, then to Aus, so worked out more expensive. They also had a 7 month wait of vehicles lined up to work on.

The one advantage (price wise) is that you can buy a used truck over here and import it, so at the exchange rate at the time it was going cost me a similar amount as a good condition/lower km crew cab/4x4/7.3 in Aus.

Here is what she looks like at the moment.

AMAZING PHOTO!

I can see what a lot of work the conversion is!!

Can they put the firewall back with some hinges? That way you'll never be in a cab-off situation. Just 'unclip' the dash, open the firewall, and hey-presto, access to all those hard-to-access bits and pieces!

I would love to get my hands on a 6.7 one day. I think the refinements mentioned in this thread would win my better half over pretty quickly!

Removing the Dash to get to it (even with hinges) is a lot... lot more work than lifting the cab - although you do need a lift. Lifting the cab is about a 2hr operation to get it up and back down, so not too difficult. The 6.7 is better than the 6.0l/6.4l in that it doesn't need the cab to be lifted for most operations (like turbo swap) that the older motors did, but lifting the cab definitely provides easier access if you do it.

The 6.7 is appreciated more by my better half than by me I think. Apparently being able to hold a conversation while travelling is a good thing???

I miss the sound of the 7.3... and the manual transmission.

I don't know sorry - they were on the truck when I bought them. I do recall Pro Comp made similar wheels (they could have been Pro Comps?)

lol. I would take it back to the dealer and tell em, this is not on.

Also. have a look at that bend in the downpipe. Looks another hot firewall.

They have, its all they specialise in - mostly Raptors, but they are doing more of the heavy duty Fords I believe now (there is an F550 getting converted next to mine).

Truck is almost done. I go to pick it up in a little under 2 weeks. It then immediately goes in a container, and I should have it in Oz mid Jan.

Bet ya can't wait for that day.

You'll miss that 7.3 rumble , the new trucks are far too quite , what do you think?
