I noticed that yesterday and it looks very solid and straight so I`d certainly be very interested in having a closer look if it wasn't a day trip away.
I love 53-56 trucks, it matters little if it`s a Ford or Mercury.
I know where that guy lives. He restores old Ford "N" series tractors and sells them also. I've never seen that truck around though, and I think his price is a tad steep. The paint doesn't look anywhere near professional, looks like there's a mirror or something missing on the driver side?
Would be cool if it could be picked up for 5g ish...

I thought you might have seen that truck around town. I`d love to buy it for 5 big ones but they`re priced a bit higher than that these days.

I agree,
I wouldn`t be real comfortible paying more than $8,000 or so for it, likely I`d be looking at well over $15-$20,000 in the end with paint and finishing it.
This one is way over the top. Barrett-Jackson Lot #817, Ford F-100
A lot of people would be surprised at how much it would cost to finish a truck like that one. I know every time I do something to my 50 it seems like it is another $500 out of my pocket and it doesn't look much different now than it did when I bought it.
That is so true Colin, body work, paint and upholstery add up so fast as well.
I like this one, except for the distance, which I would simply straighten the body out best I could on my own then paint it a satin colour and then drive the wheels off of it. http://spokane.craigslist.org/cto/4280709895.html

That would be to say that he is the original owner?
Morris, I haven't seen either of those trucks driving around town. The only '50's trucks that I've seen around here is a nice green one, it might even be a '49 now that I think of it. Older guy drives it, I'll have to pay attention next time I see it and snap a pic or two.
I'm in the same boat, that if it were 4-8g, it would be a worthwhile investment. Still be into it for 20-ish, but you'd have a much nicer truck.

I don`t really have interest in older Ford/Mercurys out of the 53-56 yr range, seems I'm just too hooked on the 53-56 yrs.
There are some fairly nice ones on Ebay around the 20 G`s range but distance is the deal breaker.
