302 question.

I have an 87 f150, I have no idea if it's speed density or maf. Yes I know 89 was first year for maf, the reason I am asking this is because when I got the truck it had tons of mods on it as is. I'll try to post a picture of the setup, but it has two hoses running to the air filter and back. I'm no sure which one this setup would be?

No '94 was the first year for MAF on trucks and it was california only, for 50 state and Canada it was '95. Two hoses to the airbox is SD.

Well.. you're going down a path that many before you have tried and found out that it's not all it's cracked up to be. An EFI motor will never sound exactly like one of those old carbed motors and if you do manage to make it sound that rough it'll mean the EFI system has no control over the motor so it won't run very good and it won't be any fun as a daily driver. The other things is that a low compression 302 really isn't enough motor for a truck that is on average 1000lbs heavier than the cars these motor are most associated with.. the Mustang, so all those parts that deliver impressive performance in the car will have you wondering why your motor is so gutless in a truck.
That's not to say you can't build performance in a truck, you can but in general unless you just bolt on a supercharger you will need smarter parts selection, more axle gearing, and if at all possible more engine displacement.

At the moment I have an almost 10:1 compression it's a pretty built engine , 4:10 gears. Whoever owned it before my grandfather put some serous money into the truck as far as engine builds and drivetrains go.

I'm not sure if a 10:1 is considered great, I'm fairly new to the mechanical world itself
