Makes me wish I had a chrome bezel for my gauge cluster.

Looks like I am going to be trying this. I just scored a used set of these gauges off of eBay. For those who are looking for them, they are Stewart Warner "Stage 1" instrumentation gauges. They look like they are from the 70's. The model numbers are:

Oil Pressure 281-E (electric gauge, needs the 279A sender kit)

Water Temp 281-C (needs the D-362-CZ sender)

Voltmeter 281-H

Ammeter 281-A

Vacuum Gauge 281-F

I am going to install them temporarily under the dash to make sure they work and the readings agree close to my present gauges, before I move ahead on placing them inside my current stock cluster.

I just recently bought the top of the line dakota gauges for another project and believe me, yours looks as good or better. I think before I'm finished w/ my gauges i'll have a grand into them.....and i'll still tune yours in just to look at every once in a while and enjoy...hhmmm...nice!

Thanks! It's not too difficult to do, just take your time. I assume any gauges would work as long as the diameter fits. If you run into any trouble let me know and I will help any way that I can.

That looks amazing! Thanks for the idea
