Hey guys, I have my old gear box out and went to put in my new redhead, and the box they sent me mounts to the inside of the frame where my current box mounts on the outside. After looking on thier website, 1977-1979 Ford F-250-F-350 4x4 Steering Gear I have the same part number, yet mine is a f150. Did they send me the wrong box or am I missing something?
If you specified an F-150 yet received one for an F-250 (the two are obviously different), then they sent you the wrong part. If you did not specify which truck you have, that's different.
An f150 (goes outside of the frame) is a mirror image (less1 bolt hole) of the f250/350 (goes inside of the frame). They sent you one for the 250/350. I have a newly rebuilt 150 box and no 150 to put it on....
On the receipt it says for a f150, so they messed up. I've got a message in with them and hopefully will hear back monday. Thanks for the clarification.

choptop, if they do not replace it, lets talk.
thanks guys
They'll fix that FAST is my prediction ....
They are super people, but even Clark Kent has a bad day now and then.

I would be happy to deal with you since I have no use for it, but I'm sure they will make it right with you.
Just got off the phone with Redhead. They are sending the right box, paying for shipping back to them, and taking care of it. Great customer service just kind of a pain to have to deal with it in the first place but they are making it as easy as possible.
new box should be here wed hopefully! I'll have all new bushings, tie rods, drag link, u joints, ball joints, wheel bearings, axel seals, ss brake lines, calipers, brakes, shocks, and coils installed in the next day or two and have the ol girl back on the road in ship shape. At least I hope, this is my first time and as they say anybody can take something apart, its those that can put it back together.
