What sort of trick do I need to perform in order to remove the cup holder that is on the front floor of my 2001 4-door Ranger. I'm hoping to be able to remove it without busting it to pieces.
Remove the pads at the bottom of each cup holder well & turn the fastners a little, say 1/4 turn to loosen them, then lift the holder up & out from under the dash.
It's very nice to know people that know something and are willing to share it with others. I've been planning on getting that out for quite some time. The section of it that is closest to the firewall cannot be used because it is covered by a little shelf with airbag keyhole switch/indicator lamp.
I make these holders to include features of my preference.
Glue some 1" clear pine boards together, then on a milling machine create pockets to retain everything from soup to nuts. Add some stain topped with varnish and it's a sight to behold.
When it gets a bit warmer around here (Minnesota) I will get started on it. So it might be a while. Meanwhile I will be working on some design sketches. Oh, and someone needs to give me a How To Attach A Photo(s) to a thread.
