Moving top load washer. Need advice

I am asked to move a top loader washer. As I never had an expensive shiny new truck before I ask for advice.

How to load it without damage to the truck? Where do I put it on the bed?

I got Fords spray in liner in the bed.

Thanks

use cardboard and a blanket.
Wrap the washer to keep from scratches and the cardboard to slide it next to the cab.

The strap it down.

Yep, like Scott said...cardboard, or a nice packing blanket and you're good. Moreso to protect the washer from the spray-in I would think. Your truck will be pretty well off.

Are you worried about denting the truck?

I have a Line-x and just threw um in the bed, along with 2 couches. Lightly ratchet strapped them towards the tailgate, just enought to keep them from moving. No issues on the way through pot-hole central in Boston, Ma

Thanks!
Yeah I don't want to dent or scratch anything. If it's older it's another story but 3 months old I want to be extra careful.

And I hate moving washers or heavy stuff. I'll find a cart to wheel it around

Load it like a truck driver would.

Meaning you want it placed and secured so that it stays in place no matter what needs to be done behind the wheel. For a top-load washer that means you want it loaded all the way to the front of the bed with straps running over the top and back of the washer. The straps over the top will keep it from tipping forward during a panic stop, and the strap around the back will keep it snug against the front of the bed when you accelerate.

Home Depot rents those small trailers fairly cheap, I say go that route. BTW I'm in same boat, we just got a new front load set, and my wife volunteered without asking me first (I was going to sell on Craig's) but she offered them to her folks, who live 1.5 hrs away.

The best part is her parents have a truck, but won't come to pick them up. So I've got to also take a chance and do it with my truck. I almost thought about paying a service to send them to her folks place (to send a message ya know) but I will likely borrow my neighbors flat bed trailer or rent one at HD for a day.

I have a spray-in liner too, but I'm most worried a bout F-ing up the jamb that is un protected between the tailgate and box-floor. And or denting my box floor etc... I'm with Op, my truck stickers for $52K and is 3/ months new, I would really prefer her parents to come pick the thing up with their beater '06 Chevy.

Lay a blanket over the tailgate to protect while loading. Then just slide it back to the cab and place a blanket between the washer and the bed and strap tight. The bedliner is designed to not scratch or anything. It is tough (that is why you got it). It will look like it is scratched but the scratches just wipe right off.

If you keep the boxes from the new washer and dryer, you can take and lay over the old ones. I used the box to protect everything and just slide/tilt it up into the truck then stand up. Works great.

I have a spray in also. I slide mine in on a tarp on it's side (greater surface area than the feet on the bottom) then stood it upright once in the bed. No issues with the bed-tailgate gap. No scratches on the washer.

The way I loaded mine is probably not optimal (weight over the axle) but the couches fit better behind the cab.

I like to keep my things nice but come on folks... these are trucks. Load um' up and get it done I keep a tarp, 8 sets of ratchet straps and a bungee cargo net in my truck at all times, just in case

I have the spray in liner on mine. It is holding up well with my loads. I would not worry about it. Just protect the washer from scratches is all I would worry about.

If you have a crew cab fold up the seats and put it in the back. CB
