There are a ton of sensors and solenoids in the E4OD that the PCM will throw codes for when it doesn't find them, but if you attach the MLPS sensor(shift lever position sensor) set it in the neutral position and fasten it somewhere out of the way the truck will be driveable until you can source a manual PCM or have yours reflashed.
