Lowered Dually
Just got back from Maui. Had a great time, thanks!
While I was gone, my son-in-law installed the drop shackles on the rear of my 2wd dually. I know some of you need extra clearance for fifth wheels and campers, so here's the info:
Original bed height from ground - 36" After installation - 33 3/4"
Original height of rear fender lip - 42" After installation - 39 3/4"
No difference in ride or capacity, and it looks better. Less daylight between the rear wheels and fenders.
The shackles I used were:
DJM Suspension Lowering Shackles p/n SH3015-1

PICTURES!!
These are all after shots. Before I did the mod, I had to use 4x4 blocks under the trailer tongue jack and the camper jacks. Now there's lots of room, and my camper slides right in!!
The anodized shackles come with polyurethane bushings, and were advertised to provide a two inch drop. I got 2.25".
Edit: The trailer's only got a 500lb. tongue weight, so it didn't even move the truck when I hooked it up. The height you see is what I got from the mod
