I did a search and several people on the various PS boards around the internet have asked about it and there's various answers. Most of which indicate the turbocharger.
With the engine warm, there is a metallic sounding rattle presumably in the exhaust system right after shutdown.
It only does it when "hot" and it lasts maybe 30 seconds or so.
I have a hard time believing it's the bearings, so I am thinking that the vanes are rattling in the unison ring slots as the turbo spins down........ But it's just a guess.
I don't see how the vanes could rattle, but it is the impeller in the turbo spinning down. Mine has gotten quieter over the years, or maybe I just don't notice it as much. Completely normal.
