Can anyone verify how to tell the difference between factor air vs dealer installed air on my truck? The AC controls are on the dash next to the glove box, there are separate controls above the radio.

I can provide any other info if needed.

Pics. would help. But at the moment it sounds to me like a dealer install. With the factory install all of the controls are above the radio.

Factory install controls were integrated like below .... these are '73 controls, '79 looked same except no script saying "Air Conditioning" across face. Not sure when change made?

I'm pretty sure the 'Air Conditioning' script disappeared either during or after the '74 model year. My '74 has it but the '75 my dad used to own didn't.

 

I am putting a 6er on factory design and maybe factory installed or dealer installed, but its called a "Hi/low" or "high output heater" type set up next to the glove box?
