ficm

My FICM i no is not ever suppose to drop below 45 and warm runs at 47 to 48. But like rught niw it is 10degrees out side and it started at 35 but when warmed up is at 48 is this normal or is there a mod i need to do
In the summer it starts at 48 no prob.

It's on its way out. Start putting cash aside and think about your options (FICMrepair.com etc). Mine would go down to 37 V while cranking and then climb back up - even made it through an entire winter without an issue. But ultimately I replaced it.

No.....It's NOT normal the FICM is dying
It may last 3 months or it may die tomorrow theres no sure fire way to tell, when mine did that i sent it to Ed @ FICMrepair.com
That was about 2.5 years ago & i still have a constant 48.5-49 volts no matter the Temp

I'm with the rest it's going out mine never drops and stay48.5-49v under all conditions. I am not sure what you would get if you had low batteries. I just tested this Sunday when I was left on the side of the road. The wife had been driving the truck said I had just under a 1/4 tank so I figured its cold out I will go fuel up. Didn't make it started going over the numbers all looked good had a buddy help me get to said fuel and she runs like a champ apparently my fuel gauge does read right under a 1/4 tank.

Should i check the voltages on the batt and alternator could that cause the low voltage

Blue Spring is highly recommended.

As for alternator, make sure it is charging 13.5+ volts at the battery after the glowplugs shut-off from a cold start.
