Possiable Brake Problem?

When I got my '96 F-150, it had these tiny passenger tires on it, so the first thing I did was replace the tires with 30x9.50 Dayton Timberline LT. Now sometimes I notice, when I first start the truck, I start driving, when I get to the end of the drive way, I go to apply the brakes and the front wheels lock up real easy, the rear wheel don't, but that could be because the rear wheels have ABS. It'll do this for about 20 min, maybe longer. I don't mind that they lock up, I just press the brakes REAL LIGHTLY. Any clues on what might be going on?

Possiable Brake Problem?

Did you purchase new rims with the tires? When the good ole' boys put the new tires on, could they have NOT tightened down ALL the lug nuts? It may have caused your rotors to warp. Were new pads installed without bedding them? Any brake problems prior to the new tires? New master cylinder, that didn't get properly bled? Is your driveway at such a slope to cause a bias in the proportioning valve to operate irratically with the bigger tires?
Let us know what you find. Good luck....

The '87-up proportioning valve isn't sensitive to tilt or slosh.

Thanks Steve. I hope it was ok to save that diagram. If not let me know. I'll delete it. I haven't heard anything from muzz3256 yet. I guess I'll have to sit and be patient until he responds. See you later....

It's a flat driveway, I'll have to check some of those things. All the lugnuts are tight, can't tell if the rotors are warped. I'll have to check the others, no new brakes sence I've haf the truck. -Joe

You can save/use/copy anything you can get to on the net , and most of the pics I post come from my signature link. I ripped that one off my Ford/Helm service CD , but it's undoubtedly available elsewhere on the net - probably here.
