Grill Guard Recommendations

Can anyone recommend a cost effective but quality grill guard for my '99 F150? We have deer in my area and want to get some protection.

I put a Go Rhino on my E250 and wouldn't recommend them. I was very limited in choices for the E series, but I did like the look. Unfortunately their quality control is pretty lousy.

The directions are poorly done. Numerous bolt holes were the wrong size or in the wrong place. Gaskets were cut wrong. One of the side guards was fabricated wrong causing it to drop to one side. The crowning achievement is their logo which they proudly put on the front of the guard, but can't even center properly.

In short, Go Rhino is a perfect example of a 70's era company with crappy quality control that drove so many consumers to buy foreign products. Our fire department put Go Rhino guards on some of the rigs so I asked the mechanic about them. His comment was "yeah, sometimes they fit and sometimes they don't". Not a very positive endorsement.

I sent an email to them detailing the problems I had and never heard a response. So either they don't bother to read emails sent to their published contact address, or they don't care enough to even respond.

God that is terrible, and they wonder why sometimes we cant buy American ?! Imagine the shop whe they cant even place their logo in the right place...geez, I feel for you.

Any chance you can get the slopping side up right with washers, maybe then spray the whole thing with bedliner ? just a suggestion.

That's a creative idea. If it comes down to it, I might just do that. Thanks

I'm looking into a Ranch Hand brush guard for my F-350, they are about $600.00
I believe they make them for the F-150 too, you can check them out.
I'm looking into a brush guard because of deer also.

How about the Go Industries? Much cheaper than the Ranch Hand, and I saw some good reviews about it.
