How low have you gone? I've done about -10 so far and didn't have any issue. I don't have a heater on this truck anyway, just curious. I hope the extra 10deg doesn't kill my chances. -2 here now and dropping, may be close to -20 by the end of the day. I suppose if I crank it up for lunch it may not be so bad come time to go home...

Here is a thread of a few cold starts:
https://www.ford-trucks.com/forums/1...old-start.html

I have started mine at zero so far. With the remote of course. Did not take any additional start up time.

One thing I notice is the 6.7 does not clank as much in those temps as the 6.4 did. Not sure why but it is quieter.

Ah. -30 or so unplugged... I feel better now. I don't think it will get that cold here. Thanks Scott.

Yes. Multiple times.

It will give you the 30 second warm-up count down when you start nearing those temperatures.

It'll sound rough, but it'll start if your batteries are in good condition. I've had to do it in those temps and lower when staying at hotels.

Many times - no problem with these trucks. Just takes a little longer to warm up.

Just so long as the fuel is not gelled.

-16 for me. cranked right up. Fuel was gelling a bit as it was out in the wind all day but since I switched to DK white bottle, haven't had that issue.

Great Falls Montana......07 Dec 2012.
Minus 33*F.......Lost power in the area at 2:00am Had to start the truck at 10:00am.........NO Problem. It just started and ran at about 1100 rpms. Did the 30 second count down. I let it idle for 10 mins before driving off. Ran fine. I do like to plug in when the temps go below +10*F just to be nice to the engine. I do run 5W 40 syn Shell oil. Standadyne Diesel fuel additive....1 oz per 3 gals of fuel. No gelling problems.
Great Truck!!

North Dakota. wind chill of -68 a couple weeks ago didn't even know these trucks had a block heater. Sounded like a Model T for a bit each time I did it. it'll crank itself over 2or 3 times then fire.
