77 F100
A friend of mine has a 77 F100 that has some typical rust but not alot. They want $800 for it but of course there are a few problems. The tranny shifts irracially almost as if downshifting to pass. The dash lights don't work and the turn signal cam is not working at all. Most of these are small fixes that a trip to a junkyard will correct. Only one I am really concerned with is the tranny. I think either the downshift rod is incorrectly connected or there is a vacuum problem somewhere. The VIN number is:
F10SRZ23053 I believe it has a 351w with a C6 but I can't find a vin decoder. Any ideas?

what's up?ther is a vac line from the back of the intake manifold to the trany,ther might be two.one goes to the modulator.they go bad.{modulator}they are also cheap.better to spend,and loose 10 bucks then to spend 800,then another300 on a trany.you can disconnect the kick down linkage to see if it's adjusted improperly.with it disconnected the truck should shift up and down normaly,it just won't downshift when you hammer it.
