I've come across a d44 hp and it's brother the d60, pulled from a 78-79 f250.
I have a 85 f250 with the d44ttb and a D61 with 3.54 gears.
How bolt on is this? It has disk brakes up front and I don't know the gear ratio yet, but for 200 each, if the rear axle has a lim-slip or a locker in it then it's worth it right there. A locker for the d61 is about 600 And an air locker is roughly double.
The rear axle may bolt in. The front axle won't. The spring perches don't line up. I think the pumpkin is in the wrong place also, causing interference with the crossmember, requiring a lift to clear.
Never done it before, just some things I remember from older posts.
Do you remember what some of the names were? I know a few builds with 20+ pages have Info on it but Im not so sure about going through all that to not find anything.
Do you know the width of the current spring perches? I'm currently deployed so I'm just shopping and ordering stuff.
F250 78-79 (F) Dana 60 69.25" (driver side drop, king pin, leaf spring span: 31.5")
F350 78-79 (F) Dana 60 69.25" (driver side drop, king pin, leaf spring span: 31.5")
F350 '85-'91.5 (F) Dana 60 69.25" (driver side drop, king pin, leaf spring span: 36.5")
F350 '92-'99 (F) Dana 60 69.25" (driver side drop, balljoint, spring span: 36.5")
Looks like about a 5 inch difference on the spring perches. The overall width is exactly the same.
I might just hold off for now thanks tho, I've spent all day looking for info on this and the only thing I've gotten keeps need a 6" fender flare to look good with them lol
