No, but I'd imagine you're getting a good product. Goodyear obviously has a stake in the rubber business!
I had figured someone here might have or do run a Gatorback ?? But I am thinking like you said they / Goodyear is in business of rubber and putting belts in rubber. I'm running a Dayco belt now for 10k and it squeaks for about 15 minutes to 1/2 hr after start up. Once warmed up it is ok. Then all I hear is the p/s pump whine. Drives me NUTS listening to it.
By the way I used a Gates tensioner & idle pulley I am very happy with them and made in the USA
I am replacing mine on Tuesday when I throw in a new water pump. I am at 145k but I have a spare pump sitting around so I thought I would do it all on my schedule before it decides to act up. I went with OEM and I will keep the old belt in the box for a spare.
I was actually thinking about throwing in a new water pump, idler pulley, tensioner and belt. while i was at it.
So far my experience has been that anytime you hear squeaking then the tensioner is the culprit. Not sure it that is the case for everyone else out there but for me it's been the issue 100% of the time. A new belt would buy me some time but eventually it would shred or start squealing again.
A good test is to check the pulley alignment with a straight edge. The tensioner wheels should remain on the same plane as the other pulleys and not cam out.
I find it easy that for a squeak spray wd-40 on what you you think the problem is i always start with the belt and move to the pullies which everyone stops when i spray it is the one that i need to replace
I tried this method and the only time the squeak left was when I sprayed the belt, until the wd-40 dried.
make sure you give ford parts man your vin. number due to length options, couple years ago people here recomended OEM or Gates Fleet Runner Micro V H-D.The gates has been squeak free, but I replaced tensioner [f8uz-6b209-ca] & top idler pulley [f8tz-8678-fa,also was careful to not get coolant & lubricants on the belt while servicing.
thanks for the part numbers. but please help clarify something for me..when you say top idler pulley, is there more than 1?
Yes, the BT-50 is correct. I have one on the way from Amazon right now. I can let you know how it turns out, but in my experience you are pretty safe buying from them. I especially like when it says "fulfilled by Amazon" as I know they're handling the sale and not one of the outside vendors.
So far the NAPA part has been holding up well. It's a slightly different design but seems to function the same. Both the NAPA and OEM had the same markings. "Made in Canada" and some sort of image that might have been a logo...

I too have had good luck with Amazon as you said as long as "fulfilled by Amazon" But I have had where I bought a part off Amazon that was a outside vendor and the order doen't get shipped out as fast.
