I took my truck on its maiden trip to the cabin with some friends the last few days. We got there and back(thumbs up) with only one issue. Upon departure and all loaded up(800lbs in people, 1800lbs in trailer and atv's, and about 1000lbs in gear in the box) I noticed I could hear the turbo in the cab at about 1800 rpm, the first hill I was heading up in 3rd(it's a 5 speed) about 3/4 throttle and I noticed a ticking start. I knew on the spot it was exhaust and just kept into it. As we made our 150 mile journey to the cabin the ticking only got worse and I started to notice the whistling change. I don't have a boost gauge in my truck but I wouldn't notice the whistling till around 2100 rpm at WOT. I was quite surprised at the difference that exhaust leak made. I can't say how much it change my fuel economy because I have nothing to compare it to. At any rate I went through 90 litres on a 300 mile round trip of up hill down hill and countless 20-30mph corners. We went from sea level to start up to 4500 feet down to 2600 and back again. P.S. My new up pipes are ordered. Next to check exhaust manifold leaks
Yea. I ordered them from bd seen as they are 40 min from my house. They also come with a new collector by the turbo as well and get rid of the donuts. I'm tossing around the idea of doing the exhaust manifold gaskets but haven't really gotten underneath to see if it's possible

So are you swapping to the SD version or do they make them for the OBS too? Was just looking at their site and didn't see OBS ones. Which got me wondering if their SD version (bellows and gasket w/o o-rings) would fit into the stock OBS collector? Iirc the price for the SD kit on their site was about $400 give or take, which seemed reasonable for SS bellowed up pipes, and new SD collector.

not entirely sure. I told them what I had and she said they just started selling them. I'm on back order right now but she would give me a call if she can get it together. Other than that I'm waiting till the end of February. I'll post when I get them
sounds like a great trip. you oughtta post some pics so we can see "the cabin" with the OBS in front! i love we have a truck that can chug along even when everything isn't perfectly right.

Hang my head in shame. I didn't take one. I hiked a ways up the mountain after walking across the lake and thought "that would be a great picture", and that's where it ended. That being said. For sure on the next trip
