Smile 2015 Eco-Boost 3.5 Power Bump Figures?

Just read an article on the redesigned Lincoln Navigator getting the 3.5 Eco-Boost V6 with 370HP & 430 Lb Ft of torque! Could these figures carry over into the 2015 F-150?

Does it matter? There is no reason to pay more for an ecoboost over the 5.0. MPG has proven to be no better and more moving parts make the EB less reliable.

Actually, the EB has less moving parts than the 5.0L.

Stop trying to insert logic into an illogical argument! The man is trying to make a non-sensical, factually incorrect post!

I've seen many reports from owners where the 3.5L EB gets better fuel mileage than a 5.0L V-8. What are you basing your statement on?

Sir, with your logic there is no reason to pay more for a 6.7L Diesel than a 6.2L gasser in the superduty. Even though the 6.7L will pull most everything else backwards.

In the gas world, the 3.5L is worth every penny if work is important.

These figures will probably be correct for the 2015 EcoB. Ford is/has dropped the 6.2. With Dodge and GM having a diesel for the light truck segment and Ford not putting one in, they have increased output to compete/offset the torque numbers and cost of fuel. Even though every engine has potential issue, one has to say that the EB is one heck of an engine and has all auto manufacturers chasing after it.

I totally agree with this statement. But I'd also like to add that neither of the competition can match it. Ram with it's ecodiesel matches the ecoboost on torque, but fails in horsepower, payload, and towing capacity. Most likely due to their rear suspension and the fact that the 8 speed doesn't appear to have a manual shift option like the 6 speed does in the Ford. GM beats the ecoboost on mileage by 1 mpg with one engine, while lacking the Torque, payload and towing capacity. Then with the large v8 option they best the ecoboost on towing, power, and torque. But lack the fuel economy, and payload capacity. Oh and if you equip the 5.3 with the 3.73 gear ratio for the towing benefit, the 5.3 no longer has the higher fuel economy and it still can't tow as much as the ecoboost. So to me the ecoboost is the winning combination here.

I know we have a few haters around, but that EcoBoost is a hell of an engine. I'll be looking at it for my next truck.

Its going to be interesting to see what they come up with for the SuperDuty with a Eco-Boost engine? I still like the 6.2 for the Super Duty! Maybe an Eco-Boost 6.2! Now that is something I wanna see! Bring it on!.....

6.2!! Lol, I was thinking 5.0, 500/600 ft/lb. Would be prefect for me, I don't really need a diesel anymore, but I'm not gonna take a bath on any trade in anytime soon, gonna keep mine another 3 years or so I think.

Was talking to a ford mechanic who said the 5.0 block is already set up for a Eco boost, who knows, he might have just talking gibberish though.

I'd be the Ecoboost engine that appears in the Super Duty doesn't exist yet. Bet it has a CGI block like the 2.7 though

Since Ram finally played catch-up with Ford and brought out the 6.4L Hemi, it would be funny as the dickens to see Ford boost a 5.0L or larger and stuff it in the SD. Like the ecoboost in the half tons, this would be a major game changer.
