I need to build a garage. this outside stuff blows... Now I got sway bar links or bushings or both. To me the power fold is the main reason I did this upgrade. I went through three sets of 03- 07 trailer tow mirrors in my other truck, and now someone hit my tiny paddle mirror. Now lets see how long they last. Matt thanks for the blue sea info..
No Problem, I agree the power fold is the best part and will be used every day where as the telescoping i will use every so often lol. My truck ue to fit in our garage and had about 1/4" of space from the roof lights to the top of the door and would stick out about 3' once fully pulled in lol but there was no space on the sides to do anything so i always work outside...it sucks. I told my GF if we ever get a house that garage is mine and it's getting an 8' door lol...she can have the kitchen and other rooms.
take a 12 volt battery and power the purple/blue and ground the purple/ yellow and it will fold. then reverse to open. Mine had a bit of play before before I powered them up.
I'm glad I have been doing all this research. Matt the wiring diagram you posted for me helped so much. The wiring between the memory and non memory mirrors are different. Not just the colors, but the way they are wired. Non memory mirrors have a common to both driver and passenger mirror motors and two wires to each motor one for vertical the other for horizontal. Where as if you look at the diagram you posted the memory mirrors have four wires to each motor two wires for vertical and two wires for horizontal. this is what i'm working out. I don't want to get into these mirrors and not have them work the way they should. worse case I'll get the memory module and wire it correctly.
still in research mode. I'll set up to bench test the mirrors.
I know this is an old post. But i am about to do a conversion on my 2008. My 2008 came with power heated with lights, but not power folding/telescoping. The good news is the wiring is there under the dash, just need to plug in the relay box. I bought a pair of power folding mirrors, that i believe are from 2011+ And they might have memory option. My 2008 does not. My plan is to replace the entire door wiring harness for both doors with ones from a truck with the power folding / telescoping option. Should be plug and play At that point. But reading this post, i now have concerns with the memory part. Will these mirrors not work because i do not have memory as an option?
So my new mirrors were delivered yesterday. They are production date 2013 & 2014. Mirror wiring is the same as stated in an earlier post. Now i just need to know if and what is different on the 2008 mirror wiring. Hoping the dealership can give me a pin out, unless someone here can help.
I can when i get home tonight...oh wait it might be in my Photobucket still! if i dont post back in a few then it's on my computer at home lol. I just got your PM too by the way I will post the diagrams here so everyone can know the difference between them if there is one.
