I keep having shock-wave plug in errors lol this computer is boned for some reason...Thanks for posting them up though so he has somehting to work with...if this works any time soon ill get it all up.
Thanks moneypit. I understand the wires on the truck and the purple and orange wires plus the heat, just wasn't sure of the running lights, signal, motor, and common wires on the mirror as they have the memory wires and oat. I still don't have all the parts yet (Damn mail). just researching really good so I don't have to be outside longer than I have to in these temps.
I personally would only focus on the turn signals, mirror functions (up/down left/right) and heat. Once that's done then i would tackle the power F/T operations that way you can at least sue them in the mean time.
I'm glad I have been doing all this research. Matt the wiring diagram you posted for me helped so much. The wiring between the memory and non memory mirrors are different. Not just the colors, but the way they are wired. Non memory mirrors have a common to both driver and passenger mirror motors and two wires to each motor one for vertical the other for horizontal. Where as if you look at the diagram you posted the memory mirrors have four wires to each motor two wires for vertical and two wires for horizontal. this is what i'm working out. I don't want to get into these mirrors and not have them work the way they should. worse case I'll get the memory module and wire it correctly.
still in research mode. I'll set up to bench test the mirrors.
I agree I would bench test the motors that way you can see which ones to wire up, it is possible to wire them without the memory module many people have. It is probably possible to just leave the common wire out but I'm not sure what it does. The memory module just folds and unfolds the mirrors when the truck is parked/turned off I believe.
The research has ended. The power mirrors with memory need 2 common wires ( one from each motor vertical and horizontal ) from each mirror to function properly. Total of 12 wires from each mirror with MEMORY to work PF, PT, Heat, Running Lights, Signal, mirror motors. I'll add all that I have found once I do the install and figure this whole picture thing out.
PLease show in detail with pictures if you can of how you install the PF and PT because I'm gonna tackle that in a few weeks and have not had much luck finding very in detail pictures lol. I'm weird i can see how its done in a diagram but i still need visual confirmation to be completely comfortable doing something.
absolutely. I'm about to cut my arm rest bezel to fit the new 08+ mirror switch and extend switch to keep a nice clean look. which on your truck you can do the mirror switch but i don't think you have enough room for the extend switch.
I already installed 08 door panels so i have the switches all wired except the PT switch and the wire going from the wirror switch t the relay (along with the mirror wires to the relay as well) .
