I came out from work to head home. Truck started and was running as usual while I waited for it to warm up. I was just about up to temperature when all of a sudden it dies.
My first thought is "oh ****" cuz my truck never just "dies".
I glance at the gauges quick and try to restart. It's just cranking and cranking.
I've got fuel, I've got power to the coil. I took the diz cap off and it looks all fine inside, cept the advance mechanism seems a little sticky.
I've got a buddy on his way to pull me home. I'll look at it more tomorrow.
the magnetic pickup tabs have basically self destructed, theres magnetic grindings and chunks all over inside.. I think the bearings went out too, the shaft is really hard to turn.
luckily it has a lifetime warranty, so its being shipped back right now... I think im going to a electronic distributor with a CDI box this time around...
I had all my tools with me last night so I spent a few minutes trouble shooting... ended up calling a friend to pull me the 3 miles back home...
