Front Spring Perch Bushing

When changing the front, perch/frame mounted spring bushing, do guys usually press/drive them out and then the new ones back in with the perch in the truck?
Or do you have to grind the rivet heads and replace the perch? Looks to me like it could be done in the frame.

I did mine in-frame Steve. If using Mid Fifty's Tool, you're gonna beat the hell out of it. Its more designed for just press use. But certainly can be done in-frame. And I haven't forgot about the front axle... just got tied up today. Sorry.

Yeah I figured. I'm going to a big swap meet tomorrow, so maybe I'll see one. As for the bushing, I might cobble together a pressing tool and see how that looks.

Threaded rod with nuts, some flat washers, a piece of pipe works fine, in and out. Grind washer OD to fit.
