79 heater issues

Hey guys. New to the thread. Have been usuing for awhile though but can seem go fin anything related to my issue. So the start off i have a 1979 ford f150 custom short bed 4x4 with a 351m and a 4 speed transmission with a granny gear. No a/c. So i went wheeling a few nights back. On tge way up heater worked perfect. Got to playing around and at some point the heater stopped. So when i got home i checked fuses. Heater fuse was blown so i replaced still nothing. So this morning i tore apart the dash to check the swith all is good. Any suggestions? Just the clearify i turn on the fan selector to hi and nothing. Fan doesnt kick on heat doesnt come from anywhere.

What does "all is good" mean? Obviously, not all is good, otherwise you wouldn't be having the issue. Have you verified continuity of the selector switch with a multimeter? Why did the fuse blow (as in, what happened)?

It was a very bumpy ride. At one point i bent the front steering shock. I thonk thats when it kicked off. Gonna check the fan and motor either tonight or tomorrow. Maybe something is stuck? I did have an extention fan down the defrost vent. Maybe?

What do you mean by "I did have an extention fan down the defrost vent"? I suppose a really hard impact COULD cause part of the heater assembly to get physically damaged?
the actual blower is a moving part, within an enclosure, moving parts can bind.....If the blower got stuck, it would probably blow the fuse

You missed my other questions. Also not sure what you mean by "extension fan." Again, you missed my other questions. I can't help you until you help me, help you.

Please dont take this the wrong way,Buggz, but clearly EVERYTHING isnt intact, because a component isnt working.......If everything were intact, your heater would work......what do you mean by "everything"? Rather than doing this via phone, go inside and do it with a computer, and give us all the details of what youve checked, and how. How and when it broke really doesnt matter, and its just speculation.

try disconnecting the power wire to the fan motor from under the hood and see if hooking a jumper wire from the battery to the motor will make the motor spin. just do it briefly, tho. if that doesnt work looks like your pulling your whole dash to get the heater box out and replace the motor. you can replace the blower motor resistor at the same time(might as well).

I checked the swithes and the cables behind it. Checked the cables at the heater and i checked the blower motor connections under the hood. Just physically looked and was looking For anything loose or disconnected. I will check all the connector points with a multumeter in a few hours.

Try the suggestion of running a jumper wire, really quickly! you would at least eliminate a possible problem..........I dont remember, on the non AC cabs, is the blower motor inside the cab, under the dash? If so, you can try tapping on the housing, i suppose that a really severe impact could have caused some damage, or a passenger kicked something and damaged it? Had the heater fan been noisy before, squeaked or made unnatural sounds?

nona/c cabs you can see the motor housing protrude thru the firewall and thats where the wiring is on the back. it comes out from the inside tho.

you have to unbolt and disconnect heater hoses from the heaterbox from engine compartment side then unbolt the main bottom dash bolts in order to clear the box. the motor comes off the box pretty easy.

If it comes down to replacing blower motor its a fairly simple task since yours is non a/c. A/c makes it more of a challenge and fun. :-/

It was making a really bad noise every once in awhile but not all the time. A really bad squealing.
