You can always go to Pick-N-Pull and see if they have any 1980-1986 Ford trucks to pull a third member from. It just needs to be 31 spline and it will bolt in. I picked up a 3.25 unit but never installed it.
If you have the tranny laying there, mark the input and output shafts and then count how many times the input shaft turns to get the output shaft to turn 1 turn. You can do a google search also. There is a thread on here now where someone posted some of the different trannies.

i have been looking all day.havent came up with nothing.
I doubt they modified the tranny. If they did anything they changed the rearend out. You can easily check that the same way. Turn BOTH tires at the same time, one turn, and see how many times the input shaft where the driveshaft hooks to turns.

Since you have confirmed the rear ratios, simply drive the vehicle with a tachometer hooked up. Record the RPMs at several different speeds in high gear and then, using one of the online gear calculators, see if the RPMs being turned match up with the correct speed [kind of backwards, but should work].
Make sure you correct for oversized tires, if applicable.
