I am the proud owner of a 1983 F150 flareside, my truck was badly mistreated by its previous owner, i was told that it was "stolen" and ran though a barbed wire fence, upon further inspection it must have been more than that because the radiator support has been completely replaced with a 1985+ support due to the winged radiator mount type. but I am in dire need of a passenger fiberglass fender for the bed. If someone could point me in the direction for locating one, that would be fantastic, i've checked LMC truck, JC Whitney and Ebay. Also Craigslist as far as the surrounding states looking for them.
There are no "aftermarket" fenders made. You MUST find a original fender. BTW even the F-350 "dually" fiberglass fender will not work. (Molded differently).
Sorry to say you must beg, borrow, or steal an original.
Is yours rebuildable? Might have to seriously consider this.
Every so often they do show up on craigslist.
Where are you located.
There is a "mint" flareside bed in a junkyard here in CT.
I live in Oklahoma so that is a huge stretch to go fetch a fender, as for repairing it i was told by the body shops around my town that it was not repairable due to the previous owner tried to repair it and actually made it worse by miss shaping it in the front.
yes, most likely that is the case, to be honest I would rather get one that is in good shape because if it gets repaired it's probably not going to look like it should, I'll take a photo of the damage when it's light out so that maybe I can get some better insight. I don't feel too good about me trying to use fiberglass and resin to fix it myself either, were it steel i'd have already pounded it back out and made it look right with some body filler. but alas that is not the case.

Thanks So much Franklin2! I'll call them after class today and post some photos of the truck. My dad calls it a 50ft truck, because from 50ft away it looks pretty good. haha!
All mine are 50 footers. I have never had the money to get any of them painted with a good professional paint job. It would make me sick to spend $2000 on a paint job, and then have a wayward piece of firewood put a dent in the bed, or get it all scratched up by tree branches in the woods. I just tore out a old brick fireplace and threw all the bricks and mortar pieces in the back of my 86 ranger. No bedliner in that thing.
I do appreciate the ones that are fixed up, but I doubt I will ever have one.
