Since yesterday I have seen this several times. A clockspring is the thing you wind up to keep your clock running for 30 days. I don't know what the heck it means in relation to my trucks.
In one test I was reading you have to check the resistance between the clockspring and the instrument cluster.
And while I'm at it, what is PID? From the context I suppose it is some kind of setpoint/indicator.
The clock spring in your truck, is in the Steering wheel, behind the airbag. It controls the cruise and horn among other things I'm sure.
PID is an abbreviation for Parameter ID's used in diagnostics for your vehicle
