suspension success
Anyways, I went to the coil over suspension, and I decided to break the bank and go with the strutmaster kit... now, I do not work for them, nor get anything from recommending them... but I got to tell you what... for $600, the truck rides like new, and I really can't hardly tell any difference in ride. I think I had it uneven for so long, that I just accepted it as it was... I know some people will tell you to keep the air ride, but what they don't tell you, is with the 25 or so different parts that all have to work perfectly, if ONE fails, the whole system gets shut down... all it takes is a tiny hole in a bag, and you burn on the compressor, and then you have a ride that is on the ground... this kit will give you piece of mind...
These are the real deal, all american made... I could have gone cheaper with china crap, but we all know what happens when you buy cheap crap, you have to do it all again in 2 years...
The springs are a LIFETIME replacement - struts are 80K miles or more.
if you are lucky to have the 2nd gen - 2003 - 2006 - these are really easy to do... took a buddy and me 2 hours to do all 4, and again, couldn't be happier. I kept the solenoids and lines tied up and connected, in case I ever decided to go back to the air, but I won't at this point - no reason to....
so, all those people that would talk about how bad the coil overs ride is... maybe if you compared it to driving it off the lot when it was brand new? - but do you really want to end up spending $4K on a truck that might be worth $9K now? (last I checked, my 2003 was High 9's KBB)
