How do I cure static in radio

1994 F-250 XL 5.8 L

Anything I can do to eliminate the interference that I assume is coming from power lines, or maybe it has something to do with the ignition system? I don't experience variable static levels with fluctuating RPM.

Factory radio as far as I can tell.

I had constant crackling static on my truck. Pulled the antenna up & the coax plug had fallen completely out of the mount.
