Fleet Farm had a 12 pack for $12 so I picked it up. I'm thinking of using it and changing every 2-3,000. I previously used Mobil 1 and changed every 3-4,000. I guess I was tired of spending $25 for 6 quarts of Mobil 1 along with the filter.
Is Drive Clean a decent dino or is it considered low end? I just want to know more about it so I can decide whether or not to use it. My truck is below.
Drive Clean is considered a decent dino. 3000 miles on it in a straight six is still overkill. Since you are in Minneapolis, M1 may have advantages in the winter, but go ahead and use the Drive Clean for summer.
I think its probably a very good oil for the money. I have heard conflicting info as to the base stocks being either a group I or group II, but for 3K intervals I'd say it would be fine. I used it for about 10K in my wife's '99 Cavalier with no negative experiences.
I brought this up before with out a reply, so here I go again.
I recently saw Mobil's Drive Clean Syn Blend in a High Mileage formula (at Walmart & Pep Boys).
This is the only oil that offers both in one product that I've seen.
I learned from Mobil's website thats it's only being offered in 10/30 and 10/40. Once it comes out in 5/30, which I'm sure it will
I plan to give it a try. Right now I'm using Valvoline DuraBlend.
Has anyone one heard of any other oil co. putting out a similar
product?
