6.7 engines

I have a 2002 F350 with 7.3 PSD with 335k miles. I saw a 2011 F350 with a 6.7 PSD and 50k miles. I love the truck but know nothing about the newer PSDs. I seem to remember problems with the 6.0 and I drove a 2010 with a 6.4 (?) PSD and it was scary fast with no chip. Now I heard at the dealer that the 6.4's had troubles but that the 6.7 has fixed that.

I put 30k a year on my truck and haul a slide camper half the time. I would like to hear from you guys before I make a move.

Well, you might want to actually post in the 6.7 section to get maximum reviews, but the 6.7 is great! Everybody knows about the 6.0, the massive amount of regens that are associated with the 6.4, but the 6.7 has fixed all of that. The 6.7 in my opinion is like the older 7.3, nice and reliable without all the regens. 6.7 still has the DPF technology, but it's more dialed in, more power then any other truck before it, and better mileage. I have put 12k on mine since August of last year and I love it.

Take a look at the Forum sub category specifically related to 2011 and newer 6.7L diesels.

So far this new "Ford" engine is proving to be a shining star.

The first thread in the 6.7L Tech Folder will give you a very detailed introduction to the power plant.

6.7 is doing very well, I'd buy another without second thought. Miles are nice and low on one your looking at , check out the history, get some warranty if available and your good to go.

well I have had one of each 7.3 loved it wish I had never traded for that first 6.0 what piece of junk oil everywhere but in the engine poor fuel mileage .and the second one was not much better So went and got the 6.4 nice power no more leaks life is good right NOT poor fuel mileage regen all the time and two turbos later . I was already to give up 2011 my dealer talked me into at least trying the 6.7 since he could not put a 7.3 in a truck I went with it WOW i'm happy again great power more then the 7.3 ever had good fuel mileage no leaks great ride (smooth) only down fall is putting DEF fluid in and I can live with that but figure in the extra cost to the fuel mileage still I would recomend this truck to you . you did almost make me cry when you mention the 7.3 jus kidding . ;-)
