I Have a 1992 f350 and it was running fine the I went to start it and I just heard a loud click coming from the batter area. After the click it kills all the power on the truck so I can't even turn on my lights. The only way I can get the lights to come back on is disconnecting both the + and - terminals. I know the batter is good and there is very little corrosion on the negative cable at the terminal. I think the loud click is the starter relay but it shouldn't kill the power to the whole truck?
Thanks
Sounds like the starter is engaging but not turning the engine or disengaging from the flywheel. You may have a failing battery that has enough power to kick it in but not enough power to do anything else. But starter relays are cheap, so try that first.
Assuming the connections at the battery, engine block (ground), starter solenoid, and starter are clean and tight, I'd suspect corrosion inside the battery cables, especially if we're talking about original cables here. If it was an issue with the battery, starter, or solenoid, you wouldn't have to R&R the connections at the battery to regain power to everything.
A bad starter relay shouldn't cause this because you still have a direct connection to the light switch and all other stuff via the connections on one side of the fender mounted solenoid.
I have seen your condition many times and unless I miss my guess, it's either a bad connection or a bad cable.

Your battery could also be shorting internally. Make sure nobody is standing anywhere near the truck atleast without good eye protection when you hit the starter switch. Those batteries can explode and throw acid and battery pieces everywhere.
