97 Expedition. 271k miles. Airbag light started flashing for the first time ever. After 52 it goes solid and stays on til you restart the vehicle. Any insight what to replace? Thanks.
use a scan tool to reset the code and see if it still comes back - I was screwing around once, and pulled the wrong fuse to check them, and it left my air bag light on, and it was a 52... so if that circut ever lost a connection/power, it will toss that code.
if the code comes back, I would check contiunity from the fuse to both sides of the wiring... might be easier said than done... but try reseting the code first - you need a real scan tool to do it, not a wal mart OBDII reader.... any good mechanic should have one, and do it for free, if you sweet talk them a little bit, etc... or if you have a hot wife/GF - just have her bring it there, and that should do it... lol
I found a newer "big boy" scanner for about $90... will clear anything, and has all sorts of cute things you can do, depending on the car... My buddy has a mustang, and I was able to see the shift points on the screen, and could move them if needed/wanted.
Speaking of that, wouldn't it be cool if sport cars had a 2 or 3 way switch for an automatic, where you could have preset shift points... like one for racing, one for hwy, and one for custom? maybe they have this already lol I know they used to do this for suspension systems on BMW's, etc...
What is the condition of your battery? Usually, that code pops up when there's a glitch in the power for the SRS system but no actual failure. Resetting the SRS system with the proper scan tool is usually all it takes.

can't remember the name actually just now - starts with an A? - will scan all OBD 1 and 2 Domestic only, but I can buy a Card that does everything else - I just only own ford and chevy, so... it does only go up to I think 2010? and then they make you buy a software update if you want to go thru 2014 (they I guess have the new codes before the car is even for sale? - the 2014's are now of course, but they claim 2015 is ready soon...
it's not a Snap on engine computer - I know that much, cuz I didn't pay $5K+ lol

Kindly identify it so we can know.
Battery is actually brand new. I replaced it the other day.
