coolant loss

I have been loosing coolant and believe it to be an egr cooler problem. But it onlly blows white smoke when its really cold thats it. And after it warms up notheing . Is that a definit egr cooler issue or could it be something else.

ect temp whick i assume is coolant temp. is 168
no coolant is coming out of container
eot temp runs between 165 and 200 but is due for an oil change at 5000 miles on the change.

You could have some serious problems. You need a new thermostat. After replacing it, test temps again and report back.

The thermostat should keep coolant at 190* give or take a couple degrees.

Coolant is supposed to run around 183- 195. Closer to 192 the better. Seems your thermostat is stuck open. Need to get that fixed first and get the temps up. Your oil temp needs to be within 15 degrees of coolant. But you cant measure the oil temp accurately until your coolant temp is up to par.

Its located on the end o the top radiator hose on the driver side. Thermostat wont cause you to lose coolant like your talking about. But in order to properly diagnose the problem you need the right temps. Have you pulled your egr valve and look and see if its wet??? If it is then yes your egr cooler is blown.

Follow the top radiator hose (drivers side) to the motor. Where the his connects to the motor is the thermostat housing.
A bad thermostat will not cause coolant loss. But the EGR cooler could be ruptured and leaking from a plugged oil cooler.

The egr delete would cure the egr cooler from blowing. A new oil cooler will fix the oil cooler being blown. You need to determine if its egr cooler or head gaskets.

Anything over 16 lbs of pressure in the coolant system at wot. Normally it would puke out of the degas bottle, heat loss at idle in the cab, smoke out of the exhaust.
