Backup Camera
I have a 2013 F350 Lariat. Recently, the backup camera has stopped working about 1/3rd of the time. When it doesn't work, a yellow triangle icon appears on the screen with " Camera unavailable. See dealer." The dealer has checked it, twice, and is unable to locate the problem. Any similar experiences? Thoughts? Thanks.

backup camera
Im having the same problem I've been back to the dealer 8 times replaced the camera still doing the same thing . now out of warranty want to charge me a diagnostic fee . they didn't fix it the first 8 times they tried.

I'm finding I need to wipe off the rear cam every time I park the truck. Even then it only works half the time due to being covered with snow or dust.

thanks chickfisher69 i will give it a try what do i have to loose. do you know for a fact that this is a problem?

Hi Crystal Thank you for your interest. the truck is a 2013 f350 platinum 31,000 miles. i have had the backup camera goes out intermittently this has been a problem going back September 2015. had it in to the dealer told me it needed a backup camera which they replaced in warranty left the dealer ship with in 4 hours camera was out called the dealer said everyone was gone till Monday. i tried to pin down when it will do it no rime or reason had it back 7 other times same story say they can't replicate the problem. i have taken it in when it was doing it i have pictures now the truck is out of warranty dealer wants me to pay for diagnostic they couldn't fix it when they had it why would i pay more money to not have it fixed. some may say its just a backup camera but at 69,000 $ for a truck everything should work. not to mention the hole that rotted through the side of the bed that they cut a piece out of and glued in a new piece. i have pictures of all this if you would like to see. sorry for being so long winded everyone. thank you

Hey chickfisher69 checked the parking brake area for a harness that is connected to it no harness is connected except the switch in the upper very back area. thanks for trying. I'm open for anymore suggestions .
