Greetings everyone,
I have been offered a 8.8, 3:73 differential out of an Expedition (it's 100 miles away) are the dimensions the same as on the explorer? How would I know if it's limited slip or what? These are probably easy questions to answer for someone that knows much about these (NOT me). I'll be putting this under my '49 F1 and want to make sure it will "fit" before I make the drive up to get it. Thanks for your help!
Thanks for the info Nathan. I have read a couple posts here where people had to use spacers to get the tires/wheels out where they look correct when using alternative axles. So, ,this wider axle may be something I want. It's free and a couple weeks from now I'm driving right by where it's residing. Thanks again!
The Expedition rear track width is 65.5" so it is way to wide to fit inside your rear fenders. On the good side, it may be good trading stock it you locate somebody looking for an Expedition or F150 rear axle. F1 rear track width is 60".
