Just make sure to not put it on backwards. My son did that and made a really big mess REALLY FAST when he started the engine.

Ouch! Bet that was ugly. Sounds like something I'd do...

Spray Tac works well also. Just a light coat.

I believe the HPOP gasket go's on one way.

Believe me, you can put it on backwards, though, because of the bolt hole positioning. You are correct, through, there is only one right way to put it on, and if you put it on backwards, you get oil sprayed out all over the place very quickly due to the misalignment of gasket surfaces between the ports on the HPOP!

OK. So do I need to soak injectors with oil before installing back in?

Front cover? Not sure what you're referring to.

There isn't a gasket for that cover, you use a gasket maker. The Ford grey stuff if the best, but I'm sure you don't have any of that. Just use a good gasket maker and you'll be fine.

Sorry... I didn't remember that being there. It's only been about three years since my son worked on his HPOP, I've not had to do anything on mine yet, and the one on my Excursion has only received a new IPR (installed from the rear w/o removing the HPOP).
