Believe me, you can put it on backwards, though, because of the bolt hole positioning. You are correct, through, there is only one right way to put it on, and if you put it on backwards, you get oil sprayed out all over the place very quickly due to the misalignment of gasket surfaces between the ports on the HPOP!
ok then, after bolting on HPOP, (don't have torque wrench so I just tighten the **** out of it) went to bolt on the front cover, does it need gasket or o-ring or what? any help

There isn't a gasket for that cover, you use a gasket maker. The Ford grey stuff if the best, but I'm sure you don't have any of that. Just use a good gasket maker and you'll be fine.

Sorry... I didn't remember that being there. It's only been about three years since my son worked on his HPOP, I've not had to do anything on mine yet, and the one on my Excursion has only received a new IPR (installed from the rear w/o removing the HPOP).
