Incredible! It's just unacceptable on a brand new truck!
nothing is ever perfect. it isn't like ford is purposefully installing bad windows, they just have defects that are difficult or impossible to detect during the installation process. age of the vehicle i doubt is even a factor, it is just a defect waiting for the right conditions to become critical.

Hi, I purchased a 6.7 Diesel 2014 F250 Super Duty Crew Cab about 3 months ago. Yesterday I started my truck using the remote starter from inside my house. Seconds after I heard a loud noise. Looked outside, the driver door window shattered! it wasn't a rock thrown at my truck or anything like that, it just Blew!!!!
My mirrors were folded in however I can't see that playing a role......

Hi Barry,
What happened was unfortunate. Have you contacted your dealer? Please PM me your VIN, full name, telephone number, odometer reading, and dealer info; I will escalate the concern to your regional customer service manager.
Hi Kwasi, thank you for the reply. I did contact the dealer and Ford however received and cookie cutter response filled with a bunch of BS and decided I wasn't going to attempt fighting what clearly appears to be a no win situation.
However is you can help, that would be great. Please send me an email and I will reply with the information requested in hopes this can be escalated to a decision maker for careful review.
My address Kwasi is barryama1124@hotmail.com
Thank you again for any light you can shed in this frustrating situation
06 F350 Drivers side window blew IN.. All over me when driving down the highway. Freakin semi beside me, trailer tire blew when it was right beside be, the explosion blew the drivers window in all over me, put me in the ditch the kicker was I was towing a 34 foot fifth wheel at the time.. Not really any damage except for the window.
Around here we've had a number of issues of kids driving around shooting out windows with pellet guns, are you sure it wasn't something like that? The pellets are very small and would be very difficult to find. I think if I were you I'd call the Police and report that you suspect this could have happened.

If it were an act of vandalism, the comprehensive insurance would probably cover it without the big deductible. My insurance co. put a windshield and passenger side glass in the F-150 I used to drive because of rocks thrown at it by kids.
