Noticed recently a bead of water coming down the inside of my windshield after a hard rain. I don't know if it is getting in under the cab lights or from around the window itself.
Anyone have this happen and know where to direct corrective measures?
We have had crappy weather lately, and I have no garage. I'll likely apply some sealer under each cab light as soon as weather permits because it is an easy attempt at a fix.
Just wondering if anyone else has encountered this??
The water can take a direct path to the pcm if the windshield is leaking, there is kind of a channel for it to follow, so it would be a real good idea to get it fixed as soon as you can.
it could be the cab lights leaking as well. mine leak when snow/ice on the roof start to melt. the foam gasket that seals them dries and shrinks over time and stops sealing. i have new ones in the barn ready to go in, but I'm trying to wait until my upcoming paint job.
in my case, though, the water comes down and drips off the front headliner trim panel.
Mine was leaking actually at the seal of the windshield and I never could get it sealed. I tried all kinds of things. I ended up replacing the windshield! It was time anyway as the glass was seriously pitted. Mine leaked right under the review mirror.
I've got water coming from above the rear view but I'm not sure if it's from the visor or the windshield. I dropped it off at the glass shop last night.

That's where they tend to leak and take the path I mentioned.
You should make sure the place that replaced your windshield used silicone on the screws for the visor. I just had mine replaced this summer and have the same visor, and my glass guy told me to do that before I put it back on.

I've had this guy do a few windshields for me in the past. He is very meticulous in his work and will only let the work leave if he is happy with the job. I have total faith in his capabilities lol. There's also supposed to be an adhesive to mount the visor on as well iirc. He did tell me there was quite a bit of rust around the seal, he cleaned it up and got it done

I watched them do mine in my driveway and same thing, lots of rust arounnd the seal. They used a wire wheel and cleaned it up nice, then treated with POR or something, then started the sealant. Mine hasn't leaked since and seems pretty solid.
I love having clean glass. One of my favorite parts about winter is not having bugs all over my glass all the time. The new windshield isn't pitted either and so on a clear night with the glass good and clean it is so much better. I hate getting in a car where the people don't clean the glass. I'm like, "How can you see anything!"
I had a horrible leak on my one truck, decided to have the glass replaced. When the guy got the windshield out he came over and said "There's lots of rust around the glass frame, go ahead and take it to a body shop, have them blast it and paint it and call us and I'll come back out and put the new windshield in."
I said, um, NO, you're putting the glass in now, I need the truck NOW not in 2 WEEKS!
He called his office and made me sign a waiver releasing them from any liability from leaks or the glass coming off the truck. Yes, the rust was that bad. I had to wire wheel the heck out of it and primed it for the guy or he was just going to leave. Swiss cheese has fewer holes. Anyway, lots of urethane and it's still fine today.
I've had leaks in several trucks, and every one was a crappy windshield job or rusty frame, never a cab light or visor leak.
